Nelle Bly's Summer 2004 Vancouver Island Circumnavigation            Jump to part 2

                                                                                              Jump to Vancouver Island Logbook

Trish arriving at Port Townsend

Trish and her mom brought Nelle to Port Townsend to get a jump on the trip north while BJ worked his last day and met them later that evening.

They arrived!

After successfully anchoring and securing Nelle Trish and her mom came ashore to explore Port Townsend.

Dinner Crowd

Dinner gathering in Nelle's Cockpit. Dianna made a ton of crabcakes! From left to right starting with Dianna, Andy's brother Mike and his wife Dianne, Cathy, BJ, Andy, Rich, Laurie, Brent, Ann, and Wes. A big group for a T-37 cockpit!

8.5 knots

Nelle charges across the Straits of Juan de Fuca to the Roche Harbor 4th of July celebration!

Warm Water

The water in the Copeland Islands is warm and very clear. This is our favorite spot that most seem to miss on their way to Desolation Sound. This is the gateway to Desolation and is easily passed up unless you have stopped before!

Nelle Stern Tied

Nelle is happily sterntied in the Copeland Islands. She waited patiently while Trish and I took the Avon to the Town of Lund and were able to download e-mail. The worlds a changing with e mail in Desolation Sound
